Imperial Cities - Berlin to Budapest - 8 Days
Day 1 – Arrival to Berlin
Welcome to Germany! Upon arrival in Berlin, our English speaking assistant will pick you up and bring you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free time to spend as you please until early evening, when you will meet your tour director for a welcome drink and a tour briefing. Dinner will be taken at a local restaurant.

Day 2 – Berlin
Today, you will get to know Germany’s capital city Berlin. Learn about the country’s divided past in the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, and view the Reichstag Building, home of the German parliament. Our tour features famous sights such as Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the German division and reunification, and Charlottenburg Palace, largest residence of the Hohenzollern in Berlin. We will finish our tour at the well-known Boulevard “Unter den Linden”; the rest of the afternoon you can explore this exciting city at your own pace, or you can join an optional tour to Potsdam with its beautiful castles. Later on, we will meet at a local restaurant for a traditional German dinner.

Day 3 – Berlin – Dresden – Prague
After breakfast, we will leave Berlin to head for our next stop Dresden. Our sightseeing tour will feature some of the city’s most stunning architectural gems such as the famous Semper Opera House and the Zwinger, a magnificent baroque architectural ensemble, as well as the recently restored Frauenkirche church. You will have time to enjoy the fantastic views from the Brühl’s Terrace, also known as the “Balcony of Europe”, a beautiful terraced promenade stretched along the Elbe river. With all these new impressions, we will continue our journey across the border into Czech Republic and to its capital city Prague, a vibrant and colourful city of art and culture, and one of the most beautiful preserved cities in Europe.

Day 4 – Prague
This morning, we will discover Prague on foot. Visit the impressive Prague Castle and Prague’s largest church, the Cathedral of St. Vitus, before experiencing the charm of the old town square. In the afternoon, you can explore the city at your own pace, enjoying for example a lunch cruise on the Vltava or visit the 14th-century Charles Bridge.

Day 5 – Prague – Cesky Krumnov – Vienna
Say goodbye to Prague and look forward to another exhilarating city: Vienna – often called the “cultural capital of Europe”, and home to the great composers of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Strauss and Haydn. On our way, we will stop at the beautiful town of Cesky Krumnow, a World Cultural Heritage Site since 1992, where you can enjoy some time at leisure. Upon arrival in Vienna, visit the Hofburg Imperial Palace, which has housed some of the most powerful people in Austrian History for seven centuries, and the State Opera House, one of the busiest opera houses in the world.

Day 6 – Vienna
Today, we visit one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria, the magnificent Schonbrunn Palace, which was in the possession of the Habsburg dynasty until 1918, and which was placed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 1996. After lunch, you will have time to enjoy Vienna as you please.

Day 7 Vienna – Esztergom – Szentendre – Budapest
Enjoy the picturesque countryside on our way to the Hungarian capital Budapest. We will stop at two beautiful and interesting Hungarian towns: In Esztergom, one of the oldest towns in Hungary, and in Szentendre, a town famous for its artistic atmosphere.

Day 8 – Budapest
Our sightseeing tour will bring you to the main sights of the originally separated cities Buda and Pest, such as the Fisherman’s Bastion with its views across the Danube to the Great Synagogue and the Parliament, and the Buda Castle, which houses the National Gallery, the city’s history museum and a contemporary arts museum. In the afternoon, attend a Hungarian Horseshow before enjoying a traditional 3 course farewell dinner in a Hungarian Restaurant with live Hungarian music.

Day 9 – Budapest – Home
This morning, say Viszont Látásra (“goodbye”) to Budapest as you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
